This band is super versatile, coming in a 3, 4 and 5 piece line up, with two vocalists in the band as standard you will get full vocals coupled with some solid instrumentals.
The band is led by Natalie, our powerhouse vocalist who has graced the stage at The Ritz in Abu Dhabi for their New Year’s Eve celebrations, and TUI (formerly Thompson) Marella Discovery Cruises. The band is backed by Andy on Drums, Alice on guitar and vocals, Andrea on bass, and Pete on keys, who have collectively studied at The Brit School, Salford University, Milan CMP, and the British Institute of Modern Music.
You might have spotted these talented musicians at Glastonbury, The Great British Rhythm & Blues Festival, Brunley International Rock and Blues Festival, Stockton International Riverside Festival, Tate Modern, and the Lords Cricket Ground Tunbridge Wells Forum. The band has also had the honour of performing alongside Ray Davies of The Kinks! When they’re not at weddings up and down the country they can be found performing in five star hotels across the world as part of the in-house entertainment teams.
They’ve got an extensive repertoire of over 300 songs covering pop, rock, disco, reggae, jazz, swing, country, Motown, soul, and folk party hits across the decades - just take a look! Once you’ve booked the band you can count on excellent and fast communication, as well as having full control over what songs the band plays on your special night. The band will make sure they’re 100% on the same page as you well in advance of your event. They’ll also bring their best party tricks and we’ll leave it up to your guests to guess which of the band members can touch their nose with their tongue! Testimonials
Really fun band for our Christmas party - amazing vocals and really got everybody dancing! Hannah, London, Christmas Staff Party, December 2016
8th Avenue performed at our work Christmas party to a hard crowd but were an absolute hit! Had us all up dancing. Great set list. Great musicians. Amazing singers such great choices and they had lots of smiles for us and had us singing along. Shelley, London, Christmas Staff Party, December 2016
Just wanted to let you know that the band were all amazing on the night - we had such a great time and all our guests commented on how impressive the band were - the dance floor was busy all evening. Please would you pass on my thanks as I didn't get a chance to thank them all individually before they left and I really want them to know that they made it all perfect, especially giving up the keyboard for the first song as well! Thanks for all your help in organising everything, it was exactly what we wanted. Sally & Phil, London, Wedding, October 2016
We were beyond thrilled with 8th Avenue, they were fantastic and really exceeded our expectations. We had lots of great feedback from all of the guests and our other suppliers were all asking where they were from! They really made our special day even better, thanks so much for all your and the bands efforts, especially coming all the way to Devon! Angela & Francesco, Devon, Wedding, July 2016
Please thank the band so much, we truly think they made the occasion all the more special. They definitely added a WOW factor. Our guests have all commented on how great they were. They allowed and actively encouraged audience participation which delighted many of our guests (especially the ones who could actually sing!). They arrived early and were very accommodating to our schedule as we did run slightly behind. The vocalist was absolutely brilliant, she worked the crowd and looked amazing. Having the band join in our first dance song saw the dance floor filled from beginning to end. Hopefully they enjoyed the night, the brides certainly woke up having thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Ewan dropped off and picked up everything exactly when he said he would and always communicated updates with us. The process of booking, setting up and the actual event was all too easy. Thank you for your help in arranging all of our particular requests and getting us started with the spotify list, it made our job of organising this wedding that much easier. Nicky & Leah, London, Wedding, March 2016
We absolutely LOVED the band! They made the night and our guests thought they were awesome too! We were hoping they would be great, and I was sure they would be, but on the night they were even better than we had hoped for, they did a really great job! Natasha Porter, London, Wedding, December 2015
Everything from the acoustics to the choice of music was perfect. Everybody thought they were fabulous and they managed to get everyone dancing! Massi & Renata, London, Wedding, August 2015
Thank you for an incredibly fun evening! The band made our evening reception a night to remember! Jackie Murray, Hampshire, Wedding, February 2015
We had a launch party and hired the band to play some background music. They did a great job. Super professional, with some really unique takes on well known songs. Louise Stewart, Surrey, Corporate Launch, December 2014
FAQ
How long do you take to set-up? The minimum set up time required is 60 minutes. However it's best to schedule in 90 minutes to mitigate any unforeseen issues that might arise. The band will work quickly to set up and sound check as soon as possible. Sound checking is very important for us as it means we'll be able to avoid poor sound quality, feedback, and other technical sound issues which could arise throughout the performance. A good sound check means you'll get a great performance.
What time do you play? Any time to suit you, standard prices are for 2 hours of live music, anytime between 6pm and 1am inside Greater London, or between 6pm and midnight outside Greater London
How long do you play for? We’re flexible! Usually we do 2 x 60 or 3 x 40 minute live sets in the evening and can provide either a pre-mixed disco (tailored to your tastes) or a crossfading bespoke playlist designed by you before, in-between and after live sets, so your whole night of entertainment is covered in one booking. We can also perform up to 2 hours’ worth of an acoustic set as an add-on, which is perfect for during drinks or dinner.
Do you have your own PA and lighting? Yes – all included in the price.
Do you have Public Liability Insurance and PAT tested equipment? Yes.
Will you perform our first dance? Yes, as long as we have two weeks’ notice we will learn the first dance of your choice.
How much space do you require? 5 piece – 2.5x3.5m 4 piece - 2x4m 3 piece - 3x2m
How much power do you require? 2 x 13 amp sockets is fine for our system.
Do I need to provide food/drinks? All the hard work the band puts in from traveling to your venue, setting up, and working well into the night makes the band quite hungry and thirsty! So they would very much appreciate being fed and watered either before their performance or during a break. They don't expect a 3 course meal, and they won't drink on the job if you don’t want them to, but it's true that a happy band always results in a happy performance. Can we add a musician or have a smaller band? Of course! We flex our line up to suit stage sizes and budgets whether that means adding or subtracting band members to get you the perfect fit. Travel We are based in London, and are happy to travel to any gig within Greater London for free. We are always happy to travel further afield for a performance, and we do frequently travel outside of London for shows. We have set fees to cover our travel expenses and overnight accommodation if required.
Choosing Songs One of the things we pride ourselves on is our repertoire which has over 300 songs in it spanning multiple genres. And what’s more is you get to pick exactly what you want to here. In a standard 2 hour set we cover 32 songs. Once you book the band we encourage you to pick your favourites from the repertoire and leave the ordering up to our musical director to create medleys and flow within the set. We’ve been doing this for a few years now and know what works well on the dancefloor.
If you’d rather hand the reins over to us that’s more than fine, or if you’d like you can use the traffic light system where you highlight which songs into green, amber and red categories and leave the design up to our musical director.
Band Members Falling Sick As a working band, we work with a roster of official 'deps' or understudies ready to step in at a moment’s notice should an unforeseen circumstance occur. They are professional well-rehearsed musicians representing the best talent out there, and for this reason we can guarantee the quality of our performance will not falter. Therefore you can be safe in the knowledge that if a band member falls ill we will be able to have another member of our collective step in seamlessly.
Sound Limiters We can work with sound limiters! We have a few tricks up our sleeves for making sure you and your guests still get a slamming performance without cutting the power via the sound limiter. We can go acoustic, meaning we can have drums replaced by cajon or the drummer can use a smaller kit and even use feathered drumsticks or hot rods to reduce the decibel level. We can also have guitar and bass use less wattage for their amps and go acoustic if needed. We’ve dealt with sound limiters up and down the country and can confidently say a sound limiter won’t be a problem.
