About
Pop / Rock Cover Wedding Band Hire Glamorgan - The Thrills
Based in South Wales, this 4 piece male fronted band covers only the best in all pop/rock genres from 70's to current hits. The band is the brain child of Steve Mackrill (drums/backing vocals) who has spent over 20 years playing in professional bands internationally in such places as UAE, Spain, all ober UK on the function/pro circuit and on cruise ships honing the concept of what makes a band set apart from the norm.
With his brother on guitar who not only has amazing guitar skills, but had an awesome lead vocal, Ben Govier on Bass, who has frightening abilty and also a superb voice topped with Dave Bryan on lead vocals, this band not only shine musically but vocally, someting few bands can boast.
Every song is played with the utmost convition. The general concept is they don't play ballads, it's all about filling the dance floor and keeping that way. As corny as it sounds, "all thrller, no filler!"

Testimonials
We've seen many bands on the circuit, and the thrillionaires stand head and shoulders above them all. The bring the standard you associate with top function bands from England. Pauline

FAQ
Do you have your own pa and light system and is it exclusive to the band? Yes. If someone would like to sing through it, make anouncements or a hired DJ would like to use it, we're very accommodating. Steve (drums) is an experienced sound engineer and will be on had to assist. He MAY even give you some reverb! Are you fixed on line up or could you add anmember(s)? Although we are a solid male-fronted 4 piece band as standard, we do have female dep singers who know our material and can be hired as an addition. Likewise for a keyboard player or 2nd guitar player/vocalist. If the gig demands it, we'd even bring Bez out of retirement! What's your set times? We can do set times of 3 x 45 minutes, 2 x 60 minutes, 1 x 90 minute, 4 x 30 minutes, 1 x 3 minute (joke) Whatever you have in mind we can provide.
Any specialist genres? Yes, we often get booked for an 80's themed 60 minute show titled "Kicking 80's Style" which goes down great! We have to remember our leg-warmers and "choose Life" t-shirts in such a booking! The set entails many classics you expect and a few you do not but raise the house when played.
What's your set up time? From arrival we can be set comfortably in 45 minutes, but have done it in 15 on occasions when we've had two gigs back to back at different venues!
If there's a noise restriction, would this be an issue? Not at all, all instruments are fed directly into the pa system and the drums are a top-end electronic kit, we could be as quiet as a juke box. But where's the fun in that? But in all seriousness, volume is never a problem and one of the things mostly said to us by audience members (some of which are in rival bands) is how clean we sound. We've even been said to have a "too perfect" sound. I'll take that!
How much space do you require? Very little. Approximately 3 x 6 meters would be adequate with (almost) no bumping into each other.
Can you provide DJ service? Yes, for a small additional fee, we can provide a hands on on-demand playlist or manned DJ service offering announcements and maintaining a happy "vibe"
Are you preparied to learn a First dance? Absolutely! We really enjoy playing a live song that means something so speciual to a newly wedded couple.
What about a stripped back acoustic set?Des and Dave (guitarist and vocalist) can do 45 - 60 minutes of acoustic music offering classics from The Beatles, David Bowie, Tom Jones, Queen, John Meyer etc. This always goes down well, particulary during guest arrivals and sets up the evening beatifully.
Do you have a limit to how far you are prepared to travel? No, if the fee is accommodating for travel and accommodations (if necessary) sorta like what Paul Young sang in the 80's "wherever we lay our gear, that's our home!" What power requirements? 2 x 13 amp sockets is adequate. We've gone off one before with no issues, but good sense says to have at least 2.
Do you carry PLI and is your equipment PAT tested? Yes to both, certificates would be issued upon booking (or prior if necessary)
